Legal Expenses Insurance is one means by which you can fund a personal injury claim. Others include “No win – No fee” and (in Scotland) Legal Aid.
There can be problems getting your legal expenses insurer to agree to you instructing the solicitor you want to handle your claim – as opposed to the panel solicitor they want to handle your claim for you.
In this episode of the Moray Claims Podcast, we ask: How much freedom do you have to choose your own solicitor for a personal injury claim? The answer is that you do have freedom of choice but your legal expenses insurer might try to give you the impression that you don’t.
We will look at issues such as:
- What is legal expenses insurance?
- What are some of the most important features of legal expenses insurance? – and –
- Why you should not let the ‘law of reciprocity’ weaken your resolve to instruct the solicitor of your choice.
